GoGreen--bicycle fleets and training for companies in central Kansas City
Wednesday, April 30, 2003
The Go Green Bicycle Initiative is sponsored by the Metropolitan Energy Center (MEC) and is funded by Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) monies through an agreement with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODoT). The purpose of the federal CMAQ program is to fund transportation-related project that improve air quality and reduce traffic congestion.

The purpose of the Go Green initiative is to promote bicycling as an alternate mode of transportation. "Company Fleets" are being established providing bicycles, training and equipment for employees to use during the workday.

Original targets are the River Market, Downtown, and Midtown areas in Kansas City, Missouri. We are currently in our second year of the three-year funding cycle.

If you work for a company, or know someone that might be interested in participating in the program, please call Melinda Michael at 816-210-8592.
