New mountain bike trail in Independence
Trail Stewards Aaron Browning and Bob Brady recently sent the following information about a new trail in Bundschu Park, Independence, MO, to the Mid-America-MTB email list:
The Bundschu park trail is 95% finished. It needs some polishing here and there, and still has one big switchback to be cut in, but it is rideable.
It's not very long, or technical, but it does have its own feel. For the most part it just needs some wheels on it. . . .
Directions:
From the Truman Sports Complex.
North 0n 435 to Truman Rd.
East on Truman approx 2-3 miles, crossing Sterling Rd. to Forest. (Independence Regional is on the S.East Corner of Forest and Truman)
Left (North) on Forest, 1 block to 9th.
Left (West) on 9th to the Park (2 blocks)
From the parking, head down the hill past the b-ball courts to a gravel road. Follow the gravel road east a short ways where you will see a grassy area on your left (North) look for blue flagging that marks the entrance.
