Jefferson City bridge to be re-striped to create bike lane
The eastbound bridge over the Missouri River at Jefferson City will be re-striped this month to create more space for cyclists, according to an
article in the News-Tribune.
The Jefferson City bridge, like several other across the Missouri River within the state of Missouri, is the only way to cross the Missouri River for many miles in either direction. It is used rather frequently by bicyclists because it provides access between the Katy Trail, on one side of the river, and the city, on the other side.
In other bridge news:
The Eads Bridge (St. Louis area) is slated for opening on July 4th. The bridge has a 5-foot sidewalk and 13-foot outside travel lanes. Bicycles will be permitted to use the travel lanes.
