Clip & Mail to improve MoDOT leadership campaign continues
MoBikeFed is continuing to encourage Missourians to
"clip or print and mail" Governor Holden, who will select two new MoDOT commissioners soon, and the chair of the committee who will select the new MoDOT Director, to encourage them to select bike/ped/transit-friendly MoDOT leadership.
If we win this battle, my friends, we win a thousand battles in one stroke. Please take just 5 minutes to print the article and forward it.
MoBikeFed has been
lobbying for a MoDOT that is more bike friendly for years. Slowly but surely, our campaign
is making a difference.
But to be convinced to change direction, government leaders need to hear the voices of thousands of individual cyclists (and pedestrians and transit riders).
Make your voice heard!Note: Missouri Highways and Transportation Commissioner Jim Anderson, chair of the search committee for the new director, said in the commission meeting February 3rd that the committee has chosen a search firm and is hoping to have the new director in place by July 1st. Current Director Henry Hungerbeelers resignation is effective June 1st.
So the groundrules for the director search are being set right now--if we are going to have an influence on the director search, we need to let our voices be heard now.
