The International Mountain Bicycle Association (IMBA) has awarded both presidential candidates honorary memberships in recognition of their enthusiasm for the sport. Knee pain motivated President George Bush to start mountain biking, and now he's hooked on the sport. Senator John Kerry's primary outdoor exercise is bicycling: he has been photographed riding his road bike, and he has also been known to pedal dirt trails near Sun Valley, Idaho. "The fact that both presidential candidates are avid cyclists is great news for our sport," quotes Tim Blumenthal, executive director of the IMBA.
