MoDOT installs bike-friendly grates in Independence

Truman Road in Independence is currently getting a facelift that includes new bicycle-friendly grates.
The old grates were a parallel-bar design dangerous for bicyclists. The new grates are "curved-vane" grates, one of the best and most bicycle-friendly designs available.
Kudos to MoDOT for making a very bicycle-friendly improvement! Hopefully such bicycle-friendly grates will become the MoDOT standard.
