Maryland Heights Trail Plan needs bicyclist support
According to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch story:
Opponents of a community trail system proposed for Maryland Heights threw brickbats at the rough outline of routes at two separate meetings recently.
Now the supporters have come out of the woods to organize a rally at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 10 at Creve Coeur Park.
Julie Dougherty, an organizer and a member of the city parks commission, said she hopes to round up "pedestrians, bicyclists and users of all ages" to counter the heat that the trails advisory group had been getting from suburban property owners who don't want trails laid across their subdivision property.
