Kansas City-based American Century Investments today announced what it called at “multi-faceted strategic collaboration” with seven-time Tour de France cycling champion Lance Armstrong.
The investment manager made the announcement this morning at a news conference at Community Christian Church, just south of the American Century Towers at 46th and Main Street. The event was attended by Armstrong, American Century founder James Stowers Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer William Lyons, Senior Vice President Mark Killen and American Century employees. . . .
The company will kick off a multimillion-dollar advertising and marketing campaign Friday featuring Armstrong and the catch phrase “Put Your Lance Face On.” Full-page print ads will run in The New York Times, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal and other publications. Television ads will begin running in May.
Both Armstrong and Stowers Jr. are cancer survivors.
“This is a wonderful match, given my interest in improving lives through better health and fitness and American Century’s commitment to financial well-being,” Armstrong said in a prepared statement.
