Historically, bridges have been an icon for connecting people with places. The burned bridge over Little Sac River was not only a physical connection for the trail to cross the river, but a figurative bridge connecting the communities along the trail on each side of the river. The gathering of all the mayors on the Frisco Highline Trail — on a bridge — last September was a momentous occasion for the entire region. The rebuilding of this bridge represents a commitment to keep these communities connected. The overwhelming number of calls to support the rebuilding effort shows how deeply Ozarkers care about the trail. We are confident the bridge will be rebuilt. And any future damages to bridges will be repaired. Too many people and organizations see value in the trail to let it be disconnected.
