A new survey by Men's Health Magazine has ranked drivers in St. Louis as the second worst in the country. Columbia, South Carolina was number one.

The ranking for St. Louis doesn't surprise John Crader who works as a CID guide in downtown. Community Improvement District or CID guides serve as goodwill ambassadors for downtown and travel around in bicycles. Crader said, "We have to be very careful because people ignore us on bikes. It does happen a lot. People run red lights. You see a lot of left turns on red in downtown."

To calculate the rankings, the magazine looked at the rate of fatal accidents, deaths caused specifically by speeding, the frequency of accidents, as well as statewide statistics on speeding and seatbelt use.

Men's Health Senior Editor Matt Bean said, "There were 30 speeding related fatalities in 2005 in St. Louis, compared with just 2 in Des Moines Iowa."
