Ride of Silence in seven Missouri locations today
Missouri Bicyclists,
The Ride of Silence is taking place in six locations across Missouri today. In most locations bicyclists start gathering about 6:30PM and ride at 7:00PM.
The Ride of Silence is a powerful way to remember those far too many who have been injured or killed on our state's roads, and to remind everyone to share the road safely.
The Ride of Silence is taking place in St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia, Springfield, Farmington, and St. Joseph.
Check the Ride of Silence web site for details about starting locations.Unfortunately, we know of at least two injuries involving bicyclists in Missouri this week, including
one who was riding on Missouri Hwy 9 this morning, participating in Bike to Work Week. (Injuries not too serious, fortunately.)
That reminds us of the need to ask MoDOT to build COMPLETE STREETS that accommodate pedestrians, bicyclists, and those with disabilities.
MoBikeFed's Bike to Work Week Advocacy Campaign asks MoDOT to do just that.We are aiming for 1000 messages to MoDOT this week, and so far we have only 155--so we have a ways to go!
