Tour of the Ozarks Saturday, Sept 22, 2007
Friday, September 21, 2007
Today's Rolla Daily News has an article about the upcoming Tour of the Ozarks.

The Tour of the Ozarks is a MoBikeFed Advocacy Event--an event that donates a small portion of every entry fee towards bicycle advocacy in Missouri.

Please support this event that supports bicycling in Missouri!

Want to get the blood pumping?

Looking for something to do with the family?

Well, consider the Tour of the Ozarks bicycling event this Saturday morning.

The event offers something for every cyclist’s skill level, featuring four rides of varying lengths - 12, 25, 50 and 100 miles. And, the scenery is the best Missouri has to offer, including old Route 66 and hilly passages through the scenic Mark Twain National Forest as cyclists travel through parts of four counties.

And while the on-line registration date has ended, there is time to register this afternoon -- from 4 to 7 p.m. -- at the Centre, located at 1200 North Holloway in Rolla. Registration fees are $50 and the first 250 participants will receive a Tour of the Ozarks T-shirt, goodie bag and water bottle. All registrants will be eligible for a prize drawing, too. Persons also may register early Saturday at Buehler Park, the starting and finish points for all four courses.

The event is the brainchild of Morgan and Leslie Bearden, two professionals who work at the U.S. Geological Survey.
