At MoBikeFed central we're hearing renewed chatter that the settlement of the Ameren/Taum Sauk issue may be announced, perhaps today?

We've been hearing rumblings that a settlement is moving closer, or is very close, for some weeks.

So we can't say anything for certain, but do stay tuned . . . certainly all parties want to get the Taum Sauk issue wrapped up, and local politicians have been putting the pressure on to get it done.

Unless something very dramatic changes at the last moment the settlement will include a provision for making the Katy Trail connection to Kansas City via the Rock Island railroad corridor from Windsor to Pleasant Hill.

The details of any agreement for using the railroad line will be very important as to how soon--or even if--that Katy Trail Connection will be built.
