Join us for Bicycle Day in Jefferson City February 26th, 2008
Monday, January 07, 2008
Join the Missouri Bicycle Federation in Jefferson City on Monday, February 26th, 2008, for the 2nd annual Bicycle Day in Jefferson City. We will meet with legislators to ask them to help make a more bicycleable and walkable Missouri.

If you can't make it in person, you can help by calling/emailing your legislator in the lead-up to Advocacy Day.

We will make personal visits to Missouri legislators and their staff in the capital. These personal visits are by far the most productive way for us to build support for bicycling and walking issues in Missouri. We will meet and talk about the main issues early in the day, have simple printed materials you can use as a guide when talking, and will visit legislators in groups so you don't have to feel put on the spot.

We would very much like to have the main bicycle, pedestrian, running, and trails clubs in Missouri and the various regions within Missouri all represented in Jefferson City that day. Legislators listen when someone from their home area visits Jefferson City in person.

* If you can attend Bicycle Advocacy Day in Jefferson City on February 26, 2008, please email director@mobikefed.org for details.

* If you would like to help out by emailing/calling legislators on our near Feb 26th, 2008, we will send details via the MoBikeFed Announce email list and on MOBikeFed.org as the Advocacy Day draws closer.

We will ask legislators to support the proposed "Safe Streets" and "Complete Streets" legislation that MoBikeFed is supporting this year. We will also ask them so support resolutions in support of Bike Month and the Tour of Missouri, and to support MoDOT policy friendlier to walking and bicycling.
